As IT democratization progresses, it is essential for each office worker within a company to shift towards more efficient and valuable ways of working by utilizing data and AI. Unfortunately, in Japan, the widespread adoption of AI in the workplace is still in its early stages, and efforts are being made to promote its use. This challenge is not unique to Japan; there are several barriers to introducing data utilization and AI in office environments.

The first barrier is the siloed systems and data, differences in operational personnel, and operational methods. The second is data governance, including data quality and security measures. The third is the penetration and widespread adoption in the workplace.

FS Creation Co., Ltd. has developed a new service that leverages data and AI to improve efficiency and value in office environments amid the increasing democratization of IT. In Japan, the spread of AI is in its early stages, and there are several barriers to its introduction. This includes system and data silos, data governance, and workplace adoption and penetration.

FS Creation has devised a new service to promote data utilization and AI utilization in office environments amidst the progress of IT democratization.

Our primary goal in utilizing data and AI in the office is to create an environment where AI can become a competent assistant for office workers. However, creating such an environment is not just about meeting certain conditions; it involves maintaining and evolving the environment. This may require changing the work methods and corporate culture that have been considered the best so far.

These changes should not be sudden and drastic but should occur gradually through daily efforts, achieving noticeable changes over a short span of one to two years, rather than over ten or twenty years. This approach is crucial for digital transformation, which is not a one-time event but a continuous adaptation to changes.

FS Creation has launched an AI/IoT implementation support service for companies aiming for true digital transformation by incorporating AI and data utilization in office environments. Our specialty is supporting the implementation of Microsoft’s Copilot/Azure AI. However, regardless of the AI service used, certain points are essential. Our support service addresses the three challenges mentioned earlier.

1. Designing the infrastructure and structure to access and continuously operate siloed systems/data appropriately.
2. Data governance: Ensuring that data is supplied to the right people in the right form and that users can use the data securely without constantly worrying about data security.
3. For penetration and widespread adoption, providing internal information and educational programs is necessary, but it is also crucial to shift the corporate culture towards one where end-users can independently and proactively learn to utilize AI.

  • FS Creation's services are good at helping you implement Microsoft's Copilot/Azure AI to address these challenges. Pilot implementations support infrastructure design and operations, data governance, and culture shifts. This approach is important for companies looking to digitally transform.

We will approach these three challenges. Microsoft recommends a pilot implementation covering about 30% of the overall system, and FS Creation generally agrees. Starting small and addressing the three challenges through trial and error prepares for broader implementation. In Japan, many companies struggle with the absence or dual roles of data stewards and the challenge of rapidly transforming highly siloed IT infrastructures into optimized IT infrastructures. Therefore, we aim to find practical solutions through phased infrastructure implementation within pilot projects. FS Creation will continue to grow by not only focusing on how to use AI services provided by various companies but also by establishing a true foundation for continuous growth and evolution through data and AI utilization.
