Today, cloud security service companies (MSSPs) are looking for new cloud service platforms to solve complex security problems in the cloud. The platforms MSSPs require should capture full packets and analyze data that is crucial not only for the security operating center (SOC) but also when going through troubleshooting. In addition, a platform must also effectively minimize cloud resources and analyze both logs and packets. Enter Quad Miners. The company provides a powerful cloud security solution that analyses full packet with evidential information for security service providers and customers to increase threat detection and response capabilities. “We have made a SaaS platform where clients can purchase our solution simply with easy deployment for their convenience,” says Bum-Joong Park, CEO and Co-Founder, Quad Miners.

Quad Miners’ Cloud Blackbox is one of the few solutions that can perform packet forensics in a cloud environment. By analyzing all packets, it can get the evidence data and provide various reports by adding simple correlation rules and scenarios. “Unlike other cloud security solutions that cannot show the root cause of a problem in the cloud, our solution is powerful and unique,” states Park. Apart from packet analysis, various detection functions can be used to classify traffic risks in a variety of ways, and customers can create their own scenarios to classify and analyze actions.

We offer a service that allows you to learn instant behaviour and further analyze threat metrics for each scenario

“We offer a service that allows you to learn instant behaviour and further analyze threat metrics for each scenario,” mentions Park. Further, Quad Miners works closely with PaaS providers and MSSPs to build Security Operation Center (SOC) to discuss the most effective configuration with its service providers and, more importantly, how to address the various cloud environment with cost effective pricing methods. Its licensing and service is also simple and flexible for clients to configure for their convenience.

In addition, the Cloud Blackbox solution is different from other cloud security solutions when it comes to deployment. It does not install any agents in the cloud environment where it can be another troubleshoot point. Being a powerful solution that analyzes and responds to threats and problems in the cloud network, Cloud Blackbox has been providing trustworthy on-premises cybersecurity services, but recently, the company has also started securing clients’ cloud environments—specifically for financial sectors and service providers.

Quad Miners is the only Korean company to be listed in the Gartner Network Detection and Response “NDR” report (Emerging Technologies: Adoption Growth Insights for Network Detection and Response). “Gartner recognized technical features of our Network Blackbox solution. They were impressed by our various conditions such as market references, use cases, and demo presentations. Gartner had more than 20 technical requirements for the NDR market and we were able to successfully show those requirements through our demos,” prides Park.

Quad Miners’ Cloud Blackbox has the exact same technical features as the Network Blackbox, but now it will be on the cloud environment. Currently, Cloud Blackbox is deployed directly on customers’ sites. However, in the future, the company plans to expand through SaaS platform so that customers can simply access/purchase Cloud Blackbox. They are also planning to take clients’ data and feed it to its Deep Learning engine, which will make the service more efficient with better reports. “Many customers in Korea use both on-premises and public cloud environments at the same time. And there are many differences when it comes to cybersecurity between on-premises and cloud environment. That’s where we want to help businesses,” Park concludes.
